This is a not-too-sweet cream cheese frosting recipe that is first found in my “Oreo Flavor Competition” where I compared which homemade cookie is the best.
See if what I think is the winner deserves the title?
Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe
A light, rich, and buttery frosting and filling
- 115 grams Cream Cheese (softened)
- 25 grams Unsalted Butter (softened)
- 100 grams Powdered Sugar
- 6 grams Vanilla Flavoring or Extract
-
In a medium bowl, cream the cream cheese and butter until incorporated and fluffy with a hand mixer or stand mixer
-
Scrape down the bowl and add the powdered sugar
-
Fold in the powdered sugar with the creamed butter first so sugar doesn't fly out of the bowl
-
Keep mixing using the hand mixer (or whichever kitchen tool you're using) until all ingredients are mixed and has a whipped look
-
Add the vanilla flavoring and mix until combined
-
Store in refrigeration if not using immediately. Bring it out prior to using to soften
